Ploiesti is a Romanian town plagued with massive stray animal overpopulation, as well as with local vet prices that make it difficult for the average citizen to sterilize companion dogs, let alone stray animals. The worst statistics I have heard claim up to 8,000 strays living in the streets of this Romanian city. With this in mind, we started the Ploiesti Neutering Challenge, a campaign providing free sterilizations for street, owned and shelter dogs and cats. So no pup would ever be born to be abandoned again.

How did this start? On March 30th 2012 I had had enough. I simply could not bare the sight of more abandoned puppies everywhere, and the awful feeling of being unable to help local animal lovers that needed help with sterilizations, because they simply could not afford it. So I took a deep breath and thought to myself, "What if the world will care? Let's give it a try!" I wrote an appeal and started a fundraising event for this Ploiesti Neutering Challenge. And just like a dream, it picked up right away. Since then, we have provided hundreds of free sterilizations. Pretty incredible. Sometimes, you just have to dream and share your dream with the world! And always, the right people will care. And they did.

Below please ready about the days held so far as part of our very own Ploiesti Neutering Challenge since March 30th, 2012:

In 2012 a total of 328 sterilizations

In 2013 a total of 1,047 animals sterilized

In 2014 a total of 1,099 animals sterilized

In 2015 so far:
