Recap of our Ploiesti Neutering Challenge

On March 30th all I had was a big dream and plenty of ambition and determination to do something good and long lasting for the Romanian stray dogs of my hometown, Ploiesti. So I launched the Ploiesti Neutering Challenge. A little over 2 months later, and our challenge has helped sterilize a total of 116 animals, and keeps on going and growing. Here is a day by day overview of how the Ploiesti Neutering Challenge went so far:

Day 1: 23 animals sterilized from donations
Day 2: 19 animals sterilized from donations
April 23rd: 1 urgent sterilization of a pregnant female dog from donations
Day 3: 20 animals sterilized from donations
Day 4: 18 animals from the Boldesti-Scaeni village near Ploiesti, sterilized from donations
Day 5: 35 animals sterilized by the RAR vet team, courtesy of RAR and SterilizeDogs
Total: 116 animals sterilized so far as part of the Ploiesti Neutering Challenge.116 animals that would have delivered hundreds of homeless puppies and kittens in the coming few weeks alone.

All this would not have been possible without the wonderful donors and supporters that opened their hearts to the Ploiesti strays and made this campaign possible. To them, endless thanks for the many animals they have helped, and for all the unnecessary suffering  they have prevented.

Looking forward, I hope that very soon we will be able to hold Day 6 of sterilizations. Day 6 is in honor of 2 very special ladies that have been absolutely essential for this campaign, just like breeze is essential for moving a sailing boat forward: Claudia who, from the first minute of me launching the Ploiesti Neutering Challenge, has helped me promote it with endless enthusiasm, believing in me and in this campaign; and Trudy, the first person that donated for the very first sterilization performed part of this campaign.

Thank you for making the Ploiesti Neutering Challenge possible!
